TRANSFORMING TRAINING WITH AI‑GENERATED CONTENT

At my company, we've seen a noticeable rise in AI‑generated training material, with teams across the organisation exploring new ways to create learning content that is faster to produce, more consistent in quality, and far more engaging for colleagues. While we don’t yet have an officially approved internal platform for generating AI‑based training videos, early trials and growing interest across multiple departments clearly demonstrate the significant potential this technology holds for transforming how we deliver training.

One of the key platforms explored so far is Synthesia, which has been trialled within parts of the wider organisation. Synthesia is a powerful tool that enables our employees to create AI‑generated training, update, and communication videos with ease. Employees can convert scripts or presentations into polished, professional‑looking videos using AI avatars available in more than 120 languages, making it an attractive solution for creating scalable, repeatable content quickly and efficiently.

However, despite its capabilities, the cost of Synthesia, particularly the monthly licensing fees, remains a barrier for many teams. This financial challenge makes widespread adoption difficult, especially when alternative tools are still emerging.

Looking ahead, I’m genuinely excited about the next generation of AI‑driven video tools. When they eventually become accessible in the UK, platforms such as Google's Veo 3.1 and OpenAI’s Sora 2 could open up entirely new possibilities for creating high‑quality training content with unprecedented speed and creativity. These tools could redefine how we approach learning material, making it easier than ever for teams to produce clear, dynamic, and visually engaging resources for colleagues across the business.

I’m particularly enthusiastic about the long‑term potential of fully AI‑driven training package creation. In an ideal scenario, we’d have a platform where you simply provide the training topic and the key learning objectives, and the system automatically generates a complete, well‑structured learning package tailored to your needs. A great example of this is Coursebox, here’s a short YouTube demo showing what it can do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uf4cmUi3nmg. With the right review processes in place to ensure accuracy and quality, this kind of approach could save the company an enormous amount of time and effort.

In my recent research, I've also seen how gamification (using game‑design elements such as points, badges, and rewards in non‑game contexts) plays a major role in modern learning platforms. Platforms like Quizlet, Duolingo, and Kahoot! all use AI‑enhanced gamification to keep learners engaged and improve learning and exam outcomes. This is an area I’m keen to explore further, as combining AI‑generated content with effective gamification could deliver even greater value for training and development.
